Latest & Advanced Water Treatment Equipments Technology India

GE is supplying advanced waste water treatment equipments to upgrade Indianapolis Power & Light Company’s (IPL) Petersburg Generating Station.

Advance Water Treatment Equipments System

To help IPL meet the Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELG) finalized last year by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), GE will supply brine concentration (evaporation) technology to treat flue gas desulfurization (FGD) wastewater discharge from the Petersburg plant, in the process making it possible for IPL to meet the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements. The plant’s wastewater will also be recycled for reuse at the facility.

Our company remains focused on cleaner, affordable and more efficient generation options, said Shams Chishti, director of environmental construction at IPL. Chemical Dosing System, This project will help eliminate the FGD wastewater discharged into the environment and recycle water for reuse in a manner compliant with the final ELG regulation.

Water Treatment Equipments Plant

Located in Pike County, Indiana, the Petersburg Generating Station is a 1,760-MW coal-fired power plant. GE will provide the new equipment to Indiana Water Partners (IWP), which will serve as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the project. IWP is a joint venture between Bowen Engineering and Burns & McDonnell.

In addition to upgrading the plant’s FGD wastewater treatment system, GE equipment will also enhance the plant’s scrubber blowdown system, softening clarifiers, thermal brine concentrators, and associated auxiliary equipment.
